Baba Vanga And Nostradamus Have Made The Same Chilling Prediction For 2025 https://ift.tt/76XQsb1 Renowned seers Baba Vanga and Nostradamus are gaining attention for their eerily similar predictions for 2025. These legendary prophets, known for their astonishingly accurate forecasts, have made strikingly similar prophecies, including alien contact with humans, an assassination attempt on Vladimir Putin, terrorist attacks in Europe, and a tumultuous reign for King Charles. Most alarmingly, both mystics foresee a devastating conflict in Europe in 2025, sparking widespread interest and debate. As 2025 approaches, their prophecies are once again gaining attention, and the outlook for Britain appears ominous. The blind Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga, who died in 1996, gained a cult following among conspiracy theorists after several of her predictions appeared to come true. Known as the "Nostradamus of the Balkans," she is credited with foreseeing significant global events such as the 9/11 attacks, Princess Diana's death, the Chernobyl disaster, and Brexit. Similarly, the renowned French astrologer Michel de Nostredame, better known as Nostradamus, is famous for his seemingly accurate prophecies. What did Baba Vanga predict? According to her prophecies, a devastating war will ravage Europe, decimating the continent's population. Further, she predicted that Russia would not only survive but also dominate the world, a prospect that is particularly unsettling given the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Baba Vanga's prophecies also foretell a series of catastrophic natural disasters, including earthquakes along the US west coast and the eruption of dormant volcanoes.  What did  Nostradamus write? The renowned French astrologer and physician Michel de Nostre-Dame, famously known as Nostradamus, penned ominous prophecies in his 16th-century book Les Propheties. According to his writings, Europe will be embroiled in "cruel wars" sparked from within its borders, fostering enemies both domestically and internationally. Nostradamus' predictions for 2025 are particularly dire, forecasting that Britain will be left in ruins following a devastating conflict and plague. He warned of a "great pestilence from the past" returning, describing it as a deadly enemy unlike any other. Furthermore, Nostradamus envisioned 2025 as a pivotal year, marked by a decline in the influence of established Western powers and the emergence of new global forces. He predicted that a prolonged conflict would eventually subside, leaving soldiers exhausted from the attritional warfare. https://ift.tt/RQYWEL4 December 31, 2024 at 09:04AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Woman Fired For Wearing Trainers At Work Wins Rs 30 Lakh In Compensation https://ift.tt/x3XWiPd After being fired from her position at a recruiting agency for wearing trainers to work, a 20-year-old woman was given 30,000 pounds (Rs 32,20,818) in compensation. Elizabeth Benassi, who started working at Maximus UK Services in 2022, said she didn't know the company had a dress code and that she was unfairly singled out because of her shoes, even though other coworkers wore comparable shoes and got away with it. Benassi, an 18-year-old when she was hired, stated in an employment tribunal she was treated "like a child" by a manager who criticised her choice of trainers. The employment tribunal hearing in Croydon, south London, found on her side. It determined that the company showed a "desire to find fault" with the young employee. The recruitment agency had only employed Benassi for three months when she faced her sacking. The tribunal was also told that most of her colleagues were in their twenties and that Benassi was the youngest employee at the company and was being "micromanaged" because of her age. Maximus UK Services, which supplies services to the Department for Work and Pensions, denied any wrongdoing, but the tribunal ruled in favour of Benassi, awarding her 29,187 pounds in compensation for victimisation. The ruling raises concerns with age-based discrimination and treatment towards young workers at work. According to The Metro, Employment Judge Forwell said: "Had that been the case, Ms Ashraf would no doubt have mentioned it at the time in her email in response. So, Ms Benassi was immediately and unfairly tackled about this on arrival at the office." "No allowance was made for the fact that she was new and may not have been familiar with the dress code. It was therefore a clear unfairness and indicates a desire to find fault." The employment tribunal dismissed her other claim of age-related harassment. https://ift.tt/Wg3td4i December 28, 2024 at 08:26AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Christmas 2024: Why Is Christmas Celebrated On December 25 https://ift.tt/5hWK46H Christmas 2024: Christmas, a globally cherished holiday, boasts a rich history spanning centuries, rooted in diverse cultural and religious traditions. Celebrated on December 25 as the birth of Jesus Christ, this date was not universally recognized in early Christianity. Various Christian communities initially observed Christmas on different dates, such as January 6 and March 25, as the Bible does not specify the exact day or time of year when Mary is said to have given birth to Jesus in Bethlehem. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, the holiday's origins and its December 25 date trace back to the Greco-Roman world, with celebrations likely beginning in the second century. The church in Rome officially adopted December 25 as the date for Christmas in 336 CE, during the reign of Emperor Constantine. Also Read| 'Christmas Eve Asteroid' To Skim Past Earth On This Date, NASA Confirms One prevailing theory for this choice suggests that December 25 was selected to coincide with Saturnalia, a Roman festival honouring Saturn, the god of agriculture. This alignment facilitated the transition from pagan traditions to the Christian celebration of Jesus's birth. Saturnalia, characterized by feasting, gift-giving, and merrymaking, laid the foundation for many modern Christmas customs. As Christianity spread, Christmas celebrations evolved, absorbing elements from various cultures. Religious narratives, such as the story of Jesus's birth in Bethlehem, inspired traditions like nativity scenes, Christmas carols, and gift exchanges, reflecting the magi's gifts to the infant Jesus. Over the centuries, Christmas incorporated customs from different regions. It became a season of festive feasts, theatrical performances, and community gatherings in medieval Europe. Even pagan symbols, such as the Yule log, were adapted into Christmas traditions, symbolizing warmth and light during the winter solstice. "Tea Is Healthy": India's Favourite Beverage Gets US FDA's Approval https://ift.tt/u5n8wop The North Eastern Tea Association (NETA) and the Indian Tea Association (ITA) have welcomed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) recognition of tea from Camellia sinensis as a healthy beverage. This landmark decision affirms the global tea industry's claims regarding the beverage's numerous health benefits. On December 19, the FDA announced a final rule updating the "healthy" nutrient content claim to help consumers identify foods that align with dietary recommendations. As part of this update, tea made from Camellia sinensis is now eligible for the "healthy" designation. Peter F. Goggi, President of the Tea Association of the USA, called the recognition "fantastic news" for the global tea industry, highlighting its potential to market tea as a health-promoting beverage. Similarly, Bidyananda Borkakoty, NETA advisor and former Vice-Chairman of the Tea Board of India, expressed his excitement. "We are delighted with the FDA's recognition. Research worldwide underscores the health benefits of tea. We urge the Indian government to promote tea as a wellness and lifestyle beverage," he said. In a statement shared by NETA, the FDA acknowledged prior findings linking Camellia sinensis to potential health benefits, such as its relationship with certain cancers. However, the agency clarified that the "healthy" claim does not extend to herbal teas made from other plants, including chamomile, peppermint, ginger, lavender, hibiscus, butterfly pea flower, or masala tea.  "At this time, we lack sufficient evidence to automatically qualify herbal infusions for the 'healthy' claim," the FDA noted. "This designation applies solely to tea derived from Camellia sinensis." The Indian Tea Association (ITA), the country's oldest organization of tea producers, welcomed the FDA's decision as a landmark for the industry. "The Indian Tea Association is pleased that the FDA has officially recognized tea as a 'healthy' beverage under its updated criteria. This allows manufacturers to voluntarily label tea products with the 'healthy' claim, provided they meet the specified standards," the ITA stated. The association also highlighted the FDA's Executive Summary, which noted that beverages like water, tea, and coffee with fewer than five calories per Reference Amount Customarily Consumed (RACC) and per labelled serving automatically qualify for the "healthy" designation. "This decision validates the nutritional value of tea and enables consumers to make informed choices," the ITA added. "Tea's richness in antioxidants and its association with numerous health benefits make this recognition especially significant." https://ift.tt/3oxANgO December 22, 2024 at 08:42AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Viral Video: Physics Wallah Teacher Uses Body To Explain Chemistry Lesson https://ift.tt/TxBIuXV A captivating video showcasing a Physics Wallah teacher's unique teaching style has gone viral. During an online chemistry class, the teacher creatively demonstrates the concept of chirality. Chirality, a crucial concept in chemistry, refers to the property of a molecule that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image through any combination of rotations or translations, much like our left and right hands. The teacher encountered difficulties in effectively explaining chirality using conventional visual aids. Recognizing this challenge, he devised a unique approach, opting for a physical demonstration. By seamlessly integrating movement with key chemistry principles, he presented the concept in a way that captivated and impressed the viewers. During the session, the Physics Wallah educator stood in front of the screen and performed an impressive physical manoeuvre-getting onto his hands and feet, placing his legs on a chair, and lowering his head toward the ground. "Imagine my head represents the COOH group," he explained as he stretched his legs, demonstrating the concept of molecular rotation. He went on, "As I turn, my right becomes left, and my left becomes right," while stretching his arm to illustrate the molecular concept. This creative approach not only clarified the understanding of chirality but also integrated chemistry principles with elements of yoga. Absolute cinema ? pic.twitter.com/KkhZwOr9dD — Priyanka ? (@Oyepriyankasun) December 14, 2024 The viral video has accumulated nearly 6 lakh views on X and has triggered varied reactions from netizens.  A user commented, "Either he is very very passionate or following the negative Pr thing to get some fame." Another user praised the teacher for his efforts, "The sheer dedication." The third user wrote, "Harsh sir is a great teacher making organic chemistry engaging for students studying 10-12 hrs/day. Activities like these keep the class lively. Sad to see people who don't understand this criticizing him. Let's respect teachers who care!"   "He could have simply used pens for demonstrating that," the fourth user wrote.  "Chirality and it's projections. Better can be taught by 3D model," the fifth user commented.  https://ift.tt/AdzlwOG December 16, 2024 at 11:33AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Baba Vanga's 2025 Predictions: 'War In The East Will Destroy The West' https://ift.tt/rGunway Baba Vanga's 2025 Predictions: Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova, also known as Baba Vanga, was a blind Bulgarian mystic who died in 1996 at the age of 85. Even after her death, people all across the world are still fascinated by her prophecies. Called the 'Nostradamus of the Balkans,' Baba Vanga claimed that she lost her sight at the age of twelve and then developed the gift of prophecy. One of her most prominent forecasts was the September 11, 2001, attack on the Twin Towers in New York. Baba Vanga made several chilling predictions for 2025, many of which suggest death and destruction. Her 2025 prophecies, which continue to intrigue people, include warnings of catastrophic global events. These forecasts are concerning because they appear to predict global unrest that might affect the entire planet. Baba Vanga's predictions are a subject of constant interest and concern due to her capacity to predict such occurrences.  Here are a few of the Nostradamus of the Balkans' extremely outrageous but believable prophecies. The destruction of Europe According to the Daily Star, the mystic predicted war and the absolute destruction of the West-oh joy. She said, "As soon as Syria falls, expect a great war between the West and the East. In the spring, a war in the East will begin, and there will be a Third World War. A war in the East that will destroy the West." And in another prediction, she claimed, "Syria will fall at the feet of the winner, but the winner will not be the one." It's hard to argue about this one, given it's clearly happening in front of our own eyes. Alien contact As per the news portal, Vanga warned: "Humanity will make contact with extraterrestrial life, possibly leading to a global crisis or apocalypse." With the promise of Donald Trump releasing all files the United States Government holds on aliens when he gets into power, it's possible that this prediction is far more accurate than we'd like to believe. Telepathy is not far off Baba Vanga predicted that humanity would develop telepathy by 2025, allowing for direct mind-to-mind communication. This advancement, she believed, would revolutionise human interaction.Elon Musk's brain chip has already been making waves with a form of telepathy where a person controls technology, but could he finally crack a human-to-human version? A year of scientific breakthroughs Baba Vanga predicted 2025 would bring major scientific and medical breakthroughs, including advancements in telepathy and nanotechnology. However, she also cautioned about the potential dangers of misusing these technologies for destructive purposes, though her exact quotes are now unavailable. https://ift.tt/SLK2lEc December 13, 2024 at 10:00AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Friday The 13th: The Chilling Truth Behind The World's Most Feared Day https://ift.tt/ygBXVp1 Friday the 13th is famously believed to be an unlucky day in Western cultures. This date arises when the 13th day of a month falls on a Friday, which occurs at least once in a year. In some years, it can occur up to three times. For example, in 2015, Friday the 13th occurred in February, March, and November. The same pattern is expected to repeat in 2026. Leap years starting on a Sunday, like 2012 and 2040, also have three Friday the 13ths in January, April, and July. This day comes differently every time. Between 2017 and 2020, there were two Friday the 13ths per year, as it did in 2023. Then there are years like 2016, 2021, 2022, and the future ones, 2025, 2027, and 2028, where this day occurs only once. The current year, 2024, sees two such occurrences, first on 13 September 2024 and second on 13 December 2024. A Friday the 13th happens whenever the 1st day of a month begins on a Sunday, making it an interesting calendar phenomenon. The Origins of a Superstition According to an article by CNN, the superstition behind Friday the 13th is a mixture of myths and historical beliefs that have been formed over centuries. For long periods of time, cultures all around the world believed both Friday and the number 13 to be unlucky. As Charles Panati's Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things tells us, it all goes back to Norse mythology when Loki's disruptive presence as the 13th guest at a Valhalla feast led to tragedy. The superstition spread throughout Europe, where it merged with Biblical stories such as the Last Supper, in which Judas Iscariot, the 13th guest, betrayed Jesus before his crucifixion on a Friday. Fridays were also historically associated with events such as Adam and Eve's fall, Abel's murder, and Noah's Ark. The 19th century popularized Friday the 13th as a bad luck day, which was further driven by Thomas W Lawson's novel Friday, the Thirteenth and Hollywood's Friday the 13th films. Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code later added its own twist, cementing its modern infamy. https://ift.tt/BmgWw6x December 13, 2024 at 08:08AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Pilot Reveals The Truth Behind The Mysterious 'Ding' Sounds On Flights https://ift.tt/7ErJYMW The sudden dings and beeps on an aeroplane can be frightening and heart-pounding for anxious passengers. But according to a pilot, these noises don't indicate an emergency and shouldn't be taken seriously. American Airlines pilot Captain Steve Scheibner posted on TikTok that these sounds are just a normal aspect of flying an aircraft. He reassured passengers that the beeps and dings always have a function and that they don't require them to panic or prepare for impact. The American Airlines captain said, "There are lots of things that you hear and you don't even acknowledge. There are three times on purpose when I actually communicate with the flight attendants with that ding." The 'ding' he is referring to is the brief sound that passengers can hear at moments during the journey that may seem random, the same sound that you hear when it is time to put on your seatbelt. However, Scheibner told Newsweek: "The first is when we're cleared for takeoff and we're taking the runway. I'll ding them to let them know 'this is it.'. "Next is climbing up through 10,000 feet. Basically, below 10,000 feet is generally bumpy. The air tends to smooth out a little bit [after that]. I'm telling them it's smooth enough to get up and start their service. If I don't ding them at 10,000 feet, they'll stay seated. "Sometimes I'll get a call if I forget. At 18,000 feet or so they'll call and ask if they can get up. The third time on purpose is coming back down through 10,000 feet. "I've already told them to prepare for landing, which means put all of your stuff away and grab a seat. That's the last time I communicate with them via the ding." https://ift.tt/YzSJaQT December 11, 2024 at 09:18AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Parrot Pulls Boy's Rotten Tooth In China, Leaving Internet Amazed https://ift.tt/M2vDRNk Renowned for their vibrant feathers, playful personalities, and uncanny ability to mimic human speech, parrots have long captivated the world. These intelligent birds are talented talkers and possess impressive problem-solving skills. The video, captured in Foshan, China, features a young boy holding a parrot. As the boy opens his mouth, he moves the parrot closer, enabling the bird to latch onto a loose tooth. With a swift and accurate motion, the parrot expertly pulls out the tooth, leaving the internet amazed. The bird then drops the extracted tooth into the hand of someone nearby, completing its remarkable task. Posted on X, Discover Guangzhou, the video caption reads, "A parrot can be a dentist? On May 5, a deciduous tooth of a boy in China's Zhejiang province was pulled out by his pet parrot in just one second!" See the video here: A parrot can be a dentist? In the wild, birds like the Egyptian Plover have a symbiotic relationship with crocodiles, cleaning their teeth in exchange for food. These small birds enter the mouths of crocodiles and remove food particles and leeches stuck between their teeth. This cleans the crocodiles' teeth, preventing infections, and provides a food source for the plovers. The crocodile, in turn, benefits from having its teeth cleaned, reducing the risk of infections and promoting better oral health. While parrots may exhibit impressive skills, an important safety concern should not be overlooked. Experts from the Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital caution that human saliva contains pathogens that can be harmful and potentially toxic to birds. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to avoid letting birds place their beaks near human mouths or noses. https://ift.tt/a3oyblr December 11, 2024 at 08:37AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Brain Rot Is Oxford's 2024 Word Of The Year. Here's What It Means https://ift.tt/PrWhaJT Oxford University Press has declared 'brain rot' as the word of the year for 2024, summing up widespread concerns over mindless social media habits and the consumption of low-value content. More than 37,000 people participated in the public vote, choosing from a shortlist of six contenders shared by the publisher of the Oxford English Dictionary. What is 'brain rot'? 'Brain rot' is defined as "the supposed deterioration of a person's mental or intellectual state, especially viewed as the result of overconsumption of material (now particularly online content) considered to be trivial or unchallenging." According to a report in The Guardian, Oxford University Press noted that the term gained traction throughout 2024 and became synonymous with worries about the impact of excessive engagement with low-quality online content, especially on social media platforms. Though it has gained new relevance in recent years, the phrase can be traced back to Henry David Thoreau's 1854 book, Walden. The expression has now come to represent a cultural critique, highlighting how today's society uses its free time in an age dominated by digital spaces. "Brain rot speaks to one of the perceived dangers of virtual life, and how we are using our free time. It feels like a rightful next chapter in the cultural conversation about humanity and technology. It's not surprising that so many voters embraced the term, endorsing it as our choice this year," Casper Grathwohl, president of Oxford Languages, was quoted as saying by The Guardian. Grathwohl also observed an interesting demographic shift. He said, "I also find it fascinating that the word brain rot has been adopted by gen Z and gen Alpha, those communities largely responsible for the use and creation of the digital content the term refers to." The shortlist included other contenders, such as 'demure,' popularised by a social media movement that celebrated reserved behaviour during the summer, 'dynamic pricing,' which refers to the fluctuation of prices based on demand, 'lore,' signifying background information associated with people or topics, 'romantasy,' a genre that blends romance and fantasy, and 'slop,' a term for low-quality, AI-generated online content. Oxford University Press factored in public input, social commentary, and analysis before the announcement was made on December 1. Meanwhile, Cambridge Dictionary named 'manifest' as its word of the year for 2024. The term relates to a wellness practice where individuals imagine achieving their goals to make them more attainable. This word has been searched over 130,000 times on the Cambridge Dictionary website. Social media-driven trends were also reflected in other dictionary awards. Dictionary.com chose 'demure,' tied to a TikTok trend that encouraged people to act with more reservation, while Collins Dictionary selected 'brat' after Charli XCX's album of the same name gained popularity over the summer. https://ift.tt/ObPFZ10 December 02, 2024 at 10:22AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

UK Man Wins Rs 215 Compensation After Finding 'Smooth' Mars Chocolate Bar https://ift.tt/95XwWnu A UK man has received £2 (Rs 215) compensation and an apology after he found a Mars chocolate bar without its signature swirl and took to social media to post about the incident. 34-year-old Harry Seager's picture of the rather peculiar-looking chocolate bar instantly went viral when he posted it on the Dull Men's Club Facebook page, generating interest from thousands of members. Mr Seager from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was on the way to a classic car show in Birmingham with friends when he stopped at a service station in Oxfordshire and bought the chocolate bar. As it turned out, the Mars bar was completely smooth and devoid of ripples that usually give the confectionery item its unique look. Mr Seager promptly contacted Mars Wrigley UK to ask whether the smooth chocolate bar was a new addition to the popular product that has been made in Slough since 1932. "We're sorry to hear about your experience Well make sure that your feedback is shared with our Quality Team. Please accept the enclosed £2 voucher that you can use towards a future purchase," read a statement by the Mars team, addressed to Mr Seager. Asked about the compensation money, Mr Seager said it was not his priority and all he wanted to know was what caused the chocolate bar to be produced in such a manner. "The only reason I emailed [Mars] was because I was interested in what might have caused it to happen. That is all I wanted to know and they kept side-lining that question," he was quoted as saying by BBC. "I think £2 is great, it will be two free Mars bars. Maybe they could have sent me more but I'm not being ungrateful. I think it's amazing after everything that's happened that I got the £2 voucher." "You only got paid £2 for all the advertising you did across multiple media for Mars Wrigley?!" said one user, while another added: "That's the most "we didn't read your complaint and certainly won't do anything about it, but have some money anyway" response I've ever seen from a business." A third commented: "The most dull thing about this was Mars's response. Thank you for respecting our group requirements Mr Corporation." https://ift.tt/6pDVah4 December 01, 2024 at 06:49AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com
