Like most cats, snow leopards are solitary animals rarely spotted together. They are skillful predators, able to kill prey up to three times their weight in challenging terrain. They are a rare species of wildlife that is highly threatened due to poaching for their skin, bones, and other body parts.

Coldplay India Concert: Chris Martin Sings 'Vande Mataram', 'Maa Tujhhe Salaam'
Watch: Coldplay Frontman Chris Martin Stops Ahmedabad Concert To Protect Fan https://ift.tt/nAHkUVx British rock band Coldplay's lead vocalist Chris Martin stopped the concert, midway into his performance after spotting a fan in distress in the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday (Jan 26). Martin had just started the rendition of his popular song "My Universe" when he spotted the fan in trouble and requested his bandmates to cut the music. Afterwards, he quickly rushed to the front of the stage, pointing towards a section on the right. "Hold on, hold on. Hey, are you okay? Can you put her there so she is safe, please? Martin said. "You sit here, because it's getting squished. Or just sit down there. That's safer." After ensuring the fan's safety, Martin gave the cue to restart the song: "My Universe again, please. I'm sorry. You stay there, you're safe now. Okay, let's go from the beginning. Please make sure you're looking after each other. It's very important." Paytm CEO Complains About iPhone 16's Camera: "Seriously Thinking Of..." https://ift.tt/ZR6Abkn Paytm co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently took to social media to call out the iPhone 16's camera quality. In his post on X, Mr Sharma expressed his disappointment over the iPhone's camera performance, saying that it is "so bad" that it left him reconsidering his choice. He mentioned the possibility of switching to a rival brand, Google's Pixel, and asked his followers if they were going through the same struggle. "I am surprised how the iPhone killed its camera (software/app) so badly in 16. It is so bad that I am seriously thinking of a Pixel now. Anyone else going through the same struggles?" Mr Sharma wrote in his post. Take a look below: I am surprised how the iPhone killed its camera (software / app) so badly in 16. It is so bad that I am seriously thinking of a Pixel now. Something's seriously wrong with either the camera or the app." Radhika Gupta, the Managing Director and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, also commented, saying, "The pixel is fab! Paytm co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently took to social media to call out the iPhone 16's camera quality.

Responding to the post, former Google executive Parminder Singh wrote, "Similar experience. Something's seriously wrong with either the camera or the app."
Radhika Gupta, the Managing Director and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, also commented, saying, "The pixel is fab! Migrated from iPhone to it."
One user wrote, "iPhone 6 was the last iPhone with innovation. Later ones are more glamorous with technical features. Now the last 3 versions are just replicas."

After Viral Video, Zuckerberg Likes Sanchez's Instagram Photo. Internet Reacts https://ift.tt/VIY9oeK Little less than 24 hours after Mark Zuckerberg went viral for looking at Jeff Bezos' fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, during Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony, eagle-eyed social media users have revealed interesting details about Meta CEO's digital footprint. The tech billionaire has reportedly been caught liking a sultry snap of Ms Sanchez on the Meta-owned social media platform Instagram, prompting droves of internet users to troll him online. Soon after the inauguration ceremony, Ms Sanchez attended the Starlight Ball -- one of the three post-inauguration events, dressed in a peach-coloured Dolce & Gabbana gown. Afterwards, she posted a couple of photographs from the event, highlighting her outfit to over 840,000 followers. While the post received thousands of likes and comments in no time, it was Mr Zuckerberg's name in the likes column that caught everyone's eye. "Zuck making likes private next," said one user, while another wrote: "That's why he never enabled community notes on Facebook and Insta." Alien-Looking 'Supergiant' Sea Bug Named After Star Wars Villain Darth Vader https://ift.tt/qyL28gf Scientists have discovered an alien-looking, 'supergiant' sea bug species in Vietnam and named it Bathynomus vaderi after Darth Vader from the Star Wars franchise, due to its head resembling the Sith Lord's iconic helmet. This "supergiant" isopod, part of the Bathynomus genus, can grow to a length of up to 32.5 cm (12.8 inches) and weigh over a kilogram, according to a study published in ZooKeys. The discovery was made while scientists were exploring culinary trends in Vietnam, where these giant sea bugs, known locally as "bo bein," have become a delicacy, with people comparing the quality of the meat to lobsters. "Smaller eating establishments keep the isopods in ice boxes to be cooked when asked, while large restaurants have dedicated tanks with chilled water to keep and display the animals," the study highlighted. The scientists do not have complete information if B vaderi was available elsewhere but dealers and fishermen informed that they obtained these creatures from deep waters near the Spratly Islands -- a contested archipelago located in the South China Sea. Apart from the Darth Vader-like head, B vaderi has a pronounced depression in its hip bone and a distinctive bony ridge protruding from its coracoid bone, setting it apart from other supergiant isopods. Also Read | Chinese Influencer Dupes Childless Woman Of Rs 66 Lakh By Calling Her Mother Appetite for the supergiant bug In 2017, the price was up to Rs 6,854 (2 million Vietnamese Dong) per kilogram. However, by 2023 the price dropped to around Rs 5,100 (1.5 million Vietnamese Dong) per kilogram and by early 2024, it was about Rs 3,400 (1 million Vietnamese Dong) per kilogram as the demand for the bug increased, leading to more fishing. "In 2017, specimens had to be pre-ordered, and diners had to wait up to a month to collect their Bathynomus specimens in seafood outlets in Hanoi. Today, some seafood markets in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang City keep up to 30 individuals in their chilled water tanks for customers to buy," the researchers noted. Despite being huge and menacing looking, B. vaderi is not the largest isopod species. The top spot is occupied by B jamesi, which can grow to around 50 cm and weigh approximately 2.6 kilograms. Despite their size, these creatures managed to remain hidden, showcasing the vast territories that remain unexplored beneath the ocean's surface. https://ift.tt/aqXDgiZ January 22, 2025 at 08:07AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

YouTuber's Chat With Zomato After Receiving Wrong Chai Order Goes Viral https://ift.tt/mkEh2d7 Bengaluru-based YouTuber Ishan Sharma recently shared his experience with Zomato on X, after receiving a chai (tea) without jaggery. But what surprised Mr Sharma more was their customer service agent's response when he raised a complaint. The YouTuber had ordered a Chai with jaggery but was mistakenly delivered without the sweetener. His chat with Zomato's customer service, which showed the chat executive's genuine attempt to resolve a seemingly small issue, went viral after he posted the screenshot on X with the caption, "Zomato got pookie chat support". "Sir..! I request you to have the chai..! I can initiate the refund for the jaggery," read the Zomato customer service agent's response. Throughout the conversation, the executive maintained a professional tone. But when the YouTuber said that he couldn't have the chai without jaggery, the executive's response took an empathetic turn. "I know how it feels in the morning and without tea it makes us feel lost," he wrote. "Please sir..! Just for today I request you to have the chai! Global Internet Outage On Jan 16? The Viral Claim And Its Simpsons Connection https://ift.tt/b3B0Yz4 Long-running US TV show, The Simpsons, has gained a reputation for delivering accurate prophesies in recent years. From predicting Donald Trump's first term as the president to calling a future pandemic that will upend the world, old episodes from the show are often used to draw parallels to modern-day events. Now, piggybacking on the prophetic prediction by the creators of Simpsons, a viral video has claimed that the whole world will face an internet blackout on January 16, 2025. The video showing an alleged episode from the show suggests that the global internet shutdown will be caused due to sharks chewing through the undersea cables. The incident seemingly leads to total disruption across the US with people unable to use computers and phones. They are also unable to make payments using credit cards while employees at Apple stores are forced to manually write the orders. The clip also shows what appears to be the US president addressing the reporters angrily about the outage. Almost all the characters in the show are affected by the global outage, except for one - Bart, one of the kids in the Simpsons family as he does not have to do his homework. Social media reacts Social media users often lap up conspiracy theories but the video appears to have garnered largely humorous responses with many laughing at the absurdity of the claims made in the video. "So we're going back to the 80's. Outstanding!" said one user, while another added: "Hope it happens, we'll get a break from working." A third commented: "Do you know how the Internet works? This video is totally fake." Also Read | The Simpsons Does It Again. It's 'Funniest' Prediction Comes True What's the truth? While the video may have gone viral, garnering over 5.6 million views and thousands of comments, the content in it is certainly bogus. There is no such episode in The Simpsons and the entire video appears to be stitched together using AI-prompt-based video tools. The video takes creative liberties, inspired by real-life events. There have been instances of sharks and other sea creatures damaging the undersea cables but rarely it has led to a global outage. Tech companies have taken measures such as wrapping the undersea cables with materials similar to Kevlar to reduce the likelihood of damage but in the odd chance a mega shark chews through the cable -- rest assured, your internet will be fine. https://ift.tt/BqkhgRJ January 15, 2025 at 11:31PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Even NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, who stands at 7'1", sometimes finds someone taller than him. The Los Angeles Lakers legend recently shared a TikTok video featuring Florida Gators centre Olivier Rioux, who stands at an impressive 7-foot-9 height.
In the funny clip, O'Neal is arguing playfully with a shorter guy before turning towards Rioux. The towering Rioux left the former NBA star appearing more like a guard than the dominant centre that he was meant to be.
O'Neal captioned the video as "Pick on someone your own size," embracing the playful moment.

Australian Wife Catches Cheating Husband Through Supermarket Reward Points https://ift.tt/DmM4VoF A woman in Australia managed to uncover her husband's infidelity by discovering his spending using a supermarket rewards programme. As per a video posted by Cass, a private investigator, her client hired her to probe the husband who was exhibiting signs of cheating but needed proof to substantiate the case. "My client, the wife, wanted to find out how her husband was cheating. We were pretty sure he was up to something," Ms Cass said in the video. While the couple lived in Queensland, the husband recently started making frequent trips to New South Wales to visit his family which led to the suspicion as he rarely went there before. The wife checked their joint bank account and found transactions from the grocery store named Coles and a hardware store named Burnings. However, with no specific locations attached to the store names, the wife could not find anything else on her husband. It was then Ms Cass advised the wife to check if they had any joint rewards accounts, such as Everyday Rewards or Flybuys. The couple had an account on Flybuys which led to the unravelling of the mystery. The purchases from Coles and Bunnings were listed with the suburbs where each store was located, and they turned out to be in a Queensland suburb where the husband's ex-girlfriend lived. In another video, Ms Cass shared a tip for catching a cheating partner that simply involved asking to use their phone. In one of the wild cases, a woman discovered that her partner had just used the eggplant emoji, commonly known to represent a penis, even though he had never sent one to her before. Notably, Ms Cass runs a female-run investigative firm that conducts background checks, on-ground mobile surveillance, and social media and dating deep dives to help women. Pastor Who Predicted Trump's Assassination Bid Now Warns Of A Doomsday Event https://ift.tt/ajI0KrN Brandon Dale Biggs, an Oklahoma pastor and self-proclaimed prophet who said he accurately predicted the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, has come up with another eerie prediction. Mr Biggs said god had shown him a vision of a 10-magnitude earthquake which may kill thousands of people across the US, according to a report in Metro. Mr Biggs claimed that the earthquake would hit the New Madrid fault line, stretching through Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois. 'It was so big, there were 1,800 people who died [along that stretch]. All the houses on cinder blocks were completely shaken to the foundation, they just fell," said Mr Biggs. '[The] New Madrid earthquake [is] so big [and] when it happens the Mississippi River starts it goes out another direction.' Notably, in a YouTube video dated March 14, 2024, Mr Biggs said the US president-elect would be targeted and that a bullet would fly by his ear. “I saw Trump, rising up, and then I saw an attempt on his life. This bullet flew by his ear, and it came so close to his head that it busted his eardrum," Biggs told Pastor Steve Cioccolanti in the video. “And I saw, he fell to his knees during this time frame, and he started worshipping the Lord.” A few months later, Mr Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt while addressing a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The bullet fired by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks kissed Mr Trump's right ear before the security officials killed the former. Is a 10-magnitude earthquake possible? Contrary to Mr Biggs' claims, earthquakes of magnitude 10 or greater cannot happen, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The magnitude of an earthquake is related to the length of the fault on which it occurs. That is, the longer the fault, the larger the earthquake. Currently, no fault on Earth is long enough to generate such a megaquake. The largest earthquake ever recorded was a magnitude 9.5 on May 22, 1960 in Chile on a fault that is almost 1,000 miles long. "Financial Wisdom": X User's Take On Living With Parents In 20s Is Viral https://ift.tt/ZQAWBNH The concept of leaving one's family home to live independently has gained popularity in recent years in India. Living independently has become a status symbol, synonymous with success and maturity. Recently, Aryan Kocchar, co-founder of the fintech company FinFloww, sparked a lively debate on X. Mr Kocchar argued that living with one's parents can provide significant financial stability, challenging the conventional wisdom that independence is always the best choice. "Might get me canceled but: Living with parents in your mid-20s isn't a ‘failure'—it's financial wisdom in a world where rent eats 50% of your income. But hey, keep chasing ‘independence' while you're broke, lonely, and eating ramen for dinner. Choose your struggles wisely," the tweet read. Choose your struggles wisely. — Aryan Kochhar (@aryan_kochhar) January 5, 2025 Many users agreed with Mr Kocchar, praising him for highlighting the harsh financial realities faced by young adults. They said that the crippling combination of sky-high rents and escalating living costs makes living with parents a pragmatic and financially savvy decision. However, some disagreed and emphasised that moving out of one's family home is often about more than just independence – it can also be a crucial step in escaping toxic or abusive home environments or fostering personal growth and self-discovery. One user wrote, "Totally disagree. You don't grow out of the environment you were first moulded in. Being broke, lonely, and eating ramen for dinner will help ignite the fire you need and the days you see to be self-made. If you live with your parents in your mid-20s, you are by default a carbon copy of the things you like and don't like about them. So naive of you to think money brings or is a measure of success when true success is self-made, mature, independent, evolving, taking risks, and seeing it through. Diamond is made in the highest pressure from carbon. If you don't have any pressure go and create a one for yourself. Worst case scenario you can always come home and stay with your parents anyway." Another commented, "While financially it makes sense, you need to learn to live alone. so live independently for 2yrs maybe?" A third said, "This depends on where your parents live. If well-paying jobs are nearby, it makes sense. But if the commute is long and stressful, then it doesn't." A fourth added, "In the end, it's a personal choice. Living with your parents or independently both have their merits, and it all comes down to what works for you." https://ift.tt/0qxoCbm January 08, 2025 at 08:38AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Video Of Snow Leopards Frolicking In Snow-Covered Ladakh Delights Internet https://ift.tt/mSGZEhn Also known as the "ghost of the mountains", snow leopards are notoriously elusive and live in the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. Recently, IAS officer Supriya Sahu thrilled wildlife enthusiasts by sharing a captivating video of two snow leopards playfully frolicking in the snow-covered Zanskar region of Ladakh. Originally captured by tour operator Tashi Tsewang, the video provides a rare and enchanting glimpse of these elusive creatures in their natural habitat. Ms Sahu described the sighting as a "fleeting dance of wild joy," perfectly encapsulating the snow leopards' elegant movements. In the clip, the majestic animals can be seen effortlessly running and leaping across the pristine, snow-laden Zanskar valley, embodying the beauty and mystique of their mountainous home. Reacting to the video, one user wrote, "Superb and graceful." Another commented, "Zanakar is almost Paradise." A third said, "One of the rare videos of leopards playing in snow. Beautiful to eyes." According to the WWF website, snow leopards are thinly spread across 12 Central Asian countries. They are at home in high, rugged mountain landscapes. In India, snow leopards are mostly found in the high-altitude, mountainous Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. According to a nationwide survey, India is believed to have a population of at least 718 snow leopards in the western Himalayas. Like most cats, snow leopards are solitary animals rarely spotted together. They are skillful predators, able to kill prey up to three times their weight in challenging terrain. They are a rare species of wildlife that is highly threatened due to poaching for their skin, bones, and other body parts. https://ift.tt/HvyzYsW January 07, 2025 at 08:04AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

High-Heeled Chinese Man Struts To Fund Mother's Cancer Treatment https://ift.tt/YK8rMpo The internet is brimming with stories of people taking up unconventional jobs to make ends meet. Adding to this fascinating collection is a unique story from China-one that is bound to surprise many, as it remains relatively unheard of. According to the South China Morning Post, a young live streamer in China has attracted 800,000 followers on a major social media platform by wearing high heels and strutting his stuff like a runway model to sell oranges in his village. The money he has raised from his eye-catching online videos helps pay for his mother's cancer treatment. Since 2022, Cheng Zhongkun, 25, who uses the online handle @mingmokun, which means "supermodel kun," has been posting videos of himself in high heels having fun with fellow villagers in his hometown of Qingji in southwestern China's Chongqing municipality. Cheng, a graduate of Chengdu Sport University in Sichuan province, challenges societal norms and confidently embraces his feminine side in his videos. From a young age, Cheng had to shoulder household responsibilities due to unavoidable circumstances. Despite facing bullying from schoolmates for his preference to play with girls, he remained steadfast in pursuing his passion for dance classes. Cheng said the elderly people in his village helped him by respecting his style and admiring his beauty. "The Qingji villagers never judged me; they only praised me. They made me comfortable about being myself," he told SCMP. Cheng's mother said she had no issue with her son wearing high heels, and his father even said he liked wearing the footwear more than his son.
