Watch: Delhi Fire Service Officials Rescue Dog Stuck In Drain For 3 Days https://ift.tt/9DfW0Lb A stray dog was recently rescued by Delhi Fire Service officials in Delhi's Green Park after it was stuck in the drain for over three days. The canine's cries were heard by someone on the road which prompted them to alert the authorities.  A video of the rescue operation was shared on social media by Simanta V. Mahanta. As per the clip, the dog could not get out of the gutter after getting inside through a broken manhole. Then, to ensure the dog's safe recovery, the fire department officers expertly drilled into the road to save the terrified animal. As per the one-minute-long video, the officials also used several tools to cut the road and then manually cleared stones from the way. A few minutes later, they were able to hear the dog. The canine was then pulled out by a fire safety official and was provided with food and water. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Simanta V. Mahanta (Sim) (@simexposure) "Unsung Heroes from the Delhi Fire Service rescuing a doggo trapped inside a gutter for 3 days," reads the caption of the video. Since being shared a week ago, the clip has amassed over two lakh likes and three million views. "Real heroes. May God bless them," said a user. "Salute," added a person. A third added, "Thank you for sharing this story! Motu is my community dog and is fed by me, my family and Manoj bhaiya (the sabji wala bhaiya) we also take care of his buddies (mighty and jackie). He's doing well now and is under observation for a few days since he's an old dog. Thank you everyone who helped motu!!" "Very Good," commented a person. The incident took place in San Antonio and the puppy was one of the three that fell into an open valve while playing in the front yard of a home, as per a report in the New York Post. The San Antonio Fire Department pulled two puppies to safety, however, they were unable to catch the third one, who had crawled deeper into the sewer line. The extensive rescue operation began when the department called the San Antonio Water System for help. Using a tiny camera, the personnel found the dog inside the sewer and gently redirected it 200 feet to a sewage opening found across the street. After nearly eight hours, the pooch, which was named Pipa by the responders, was pulled out and rescued.    https://ift.tt/gClujRp December 04, 2023 at 11:46PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Venomous Snake Spotted Hiding Inside Bathroom Scale, How It Was Rescued https://ift.tt/6im3KMz People, in general, are terrified of snakes as these reptiles have a notorious reputation for sliding into the trickiest of spots. When it comes to Australia, snakes can be found just about anywhere. A cause of major concern in the country, residents often spot these creepy reptiles lurking around in their homes and offices. In a similar incident in South Australia, a woman spotted a venomous snake in her bathroom scale and promptly called a snake catcher to remove the reptile. A video of the rescue was shared on Facebook by Barossa Reptile Service which has gone viral.  The footage which is over a minute long shows how the snake catcher opens the scale, prompting the reptile to slither out of it. The catcher then holds the snake with his bare hands and puts it in a black bag to take it safely out of the house. ''This little fella must have been concerned about his weight this afternoon! Juvenile eastern brown in a bathroom, then moved into the scales to hide. The owner reckons it came in on the mop which is entirely possible and likely considering the situation,'' the video was captioned.  Watch the video here: Needless to say, the video has left internet users terrified. One user wrote, ''I'm terrified to get one in the house and not know, with the kids home.'' Another commented, ''Gee, obviously he didn't read the instructions first. Stand on top. Do not enter.''  A third joked, ''Beautiful looking danger noodle.'' Eastern brown snakes are Australia's second most venomous land snake. As per data from the University of Melbourne's Australian Venom Research Unit, they have the second most toxic venom of all land snakes worldwide. Their venom contains a powerful neurotoxin, which progressively paralyzes the victim's nerves in their heart, lungs, and diaphragm, eventually causing suffocation.  According to the Department of Environment and Science in Queensland, the species is most active during the day and can bite if provoked. https://ift.tt/eLR0PEX December 03, 2023 at 10:14PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Mumbai Traffic Police Responds To Amol Kolhe's Critique On E-Challans https://ift.tt/xITAVFD Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Amol Kolhe has criticised the Mumbai Traffic Police for their approach to traffic fine collection. Kolhe's criticism came after he was stopped by a female traffic police officer and asked to pay a fine online for his vehicle, which has 15 pending e-challans worth Rs 16,900. In a tweet, Kolhe said that he was "shocked" by the incident and that the traffic police were "harassing" him. He also questioned the need for such a large number of e-challans. “I experienced something very shocking. A lady police officer from the Mumbai Traffic Police stopped my car and asked to pay the fine online. While checking her mobile, I saw a message in the form of an order that said ₹25,000 to be collected from at least 20 vehicles," Mr Kolhe wrote. He then criticised the government and the traffic police for this behavior. "There are 652 traffic junctions in Mumbai. 25,000x652 = Rs 1,63,00,000 per day, which is a whopping Rs 1.63 crore in Mumbai alone. What about other cities? If the concerned ministers or officials disclose, the public will know whether the traffic department is being used for recovery rather than traffic regulation," he added. आजचा धक्कादायक अनुभव- मुंबईत सिग्नल्स वाहतूक शाखेच्या महिला पोलिसांनी गाडी अडवून ड्रायव्हरला ऑनलाईन दंड भरण्यास सांगितले. मी स्वतः काय प्रकार आहे याची माहिती घेताना त्या भगिनीने थेट मोबाईलवरील मेसेज दाखवला- प्रत्येक चौकात २५००० रूपयांची वसुली व २० वाहनांवर कारवाई झाली पाहिजे!… pic.twitter.com/TJ3oq2oSsO — Dr.Amol Kolhe (@kolhe_amol) December 2, 2023 The Mumbai Traffic Police responded to Mr Kolhe's tweet by saying that "more than 1.31 crore e-challans in the city of Mumbai for violating the Motor Vehicle Act have a fine amount of over Rs 685 crore pending since January 1, 2019.
