At This Japanese Restaurant, People Pay To Get Slapped By Female Waitresses https://ift.tt/HOYfmGg While restaurants across the world are experimenting with innovative themes to attract customers, an eatery in Japan has adopted a bizarre practice to captivate the attention of people. At an eatery called Shachihoko-ya in Nagoya, people willingly get slapped on their faces before having their meals served. For a mere 300 Japanese Yen (Rs 170), kimono-dressed waitresses slap a willing customer in the face with their palms, over and over again. There's also a 500 yen (Rs 283) surcharge if patrons request a specific staff member to slap them. The service is popular with both Japanese men and women, as well as foreign tourists. Taking to the X, Bangkok Lad shared a video of the famous restaurant and wrote, ''This is Shachihokoya - a restaurant in Nagoya - where you can buy a menu item called 'Nagoya Lady's Slap' for 300 yen.'' The video has garnered thousands of views with hilarious reactions and comments from internet users.  Watch the video here: This is Shachihokoya - a restaurant in Nagoya - where you can buy a menu item called 'Nagoya Lady's Slap' for 300 yen pic.twitter.com/19qPM1Ohac Bangkok Lad (@bangkoklad) November 29, 2023 ''The harder the female staff slapped them, the more excited the patrons became. Not only were the patrons not angry, but they appeared to feel more relaxed after getting hit. They would even thank the staff member who smacked them,'' said the YouTube video narration on the 'Save Your Money In Japan' channel. Notably, the controversial service, which started in 2012, revived the establishment's business, attracting an increasing number of patrons willing to try the experience. Initially, only one female staff member did the slapping. As demand grew, management hired several girls willing to dish out some slaps. However, the establishment has now discontinued its face-smacking service after some videos of the bizarre service went viral. In a post on X, the restaurant urged people not to come by expecting to get slapped. Shachihoko-ya currently does not offer slaps. We appreciate the attention it has received today, but we cannot accommodate visits with the intention of receiving slaps. We didn't expect old videos to go viral like this, so please understand before comming. pic.twitter.com/Xd30LjNTpk — しゃちほこ屋通信 (@shachihokoya) November 29, 2023 The post read, ''Shachihoko-ya currently does not offer slaps. The San Antonio Fire Department pulled two puppies to safety, however, they were unable to catch the third one, who had crawled deeper into the sewer line. The extensive rescue operation began when the department called the San Antonio Water System for help. Venomous Snake Spotted Hiding Inside Bathroom Scale, How It Was Rescued https://ift.tt/6im3KMz People, in general, are terrified of snakes as these reptiles have a notorious reputation for sliding into the trickiest of spots. When it comes to Australia, snakes can be found just about anywhere. A cause of major concern in the country, residents often spot these creepy reptiles lurking around in their homes and offices. In a similar incident in South Australia, a woman spotted a venomous snake in her bathroom scale and promptly called a snake catcher to remove the reptile. A video of the rescue was shared on Facebook by Barossa Reptile Service which has gone viral.  The footage which is over a minute long shows how the snake catcher opens the scale, prompting the reptile to slither out of it. The catcher then holds the snake with his bare hands and puts it in a black bag to take it safely out of the house. ''This little fella must have been concerned about his weight this afternoon! Juvenile eastern brown in a bathroom, then moved into the scales to hide. The owner reckons it came in on the mop which is entirely possible and likely considering the situation,'' the video was captioned.  Watch the video here: Needless to say, the video has left internet users terrified. One user wrote, ''I'm terrified to get one in the house and not know, with the kids home.'' Another commented, ''Gee, obviously he didn't read the instructions first. Stand on top. Do not enter.''  A third joked, ''Beautiful looking danger noodle.'' Eastern brown snakes are Australia's second most venomous land snake. As per data from the University of Melbourne's Australian Venom Research Unit, they have the second most toxic venom of all land snakes worldwide. Their venom contains a powerful neurotoxin, which progressively paralyzes the victim's nerves in their heart, lungs, and diaphragm, eventually causing suffocation.  According to the Department of Environment and Science in Queensland, the species is most active during the day and can bite if provoked. https://ift.tt/eLR0PEX December 03, 2023 at 10:14PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com
