Doctor Reveals 3 Simple Secrets To A Long Life, Harsh Goenka Shares Video https://ift.tt/x2aQwBP Industrialist Harsh Goenka often shares motivational and interesting posts to keep his social media fans entertained. On Wednesday, the tech-savvy businessman shared a thought-provoking video featuring a doctor who offered simple tips for a long life. In the video, Dr Nishit Choksi discusses the insights and perspectives he gained after talking to his patients aged 90 and above. Almost all the patients he talked to emphasised the importance of being happy and content as the secret to a long and healthy life. Exercising regularly is another determining factor for longevity, according to the doctor.  ''The common answer is you gotta be happy. You have to be content with what you have. You have to exercise. I have one 90-year-old lady who goes to the gym every day. That's her passion. She walks without a stick. Her mind is sharp, she lives by herself, and she cooks on her own. Sometimes we try to chew more than we can swallow, so we get angry and upset that we didn't get this and that. That creates a chain of events and you don't eat well, you are stressed, and your blood pressure goes up. So three key things: Happiness, content and exercise,'' the doctor said in the video.  ''Simple secrets to long life…,'' the video was captioned by Mr Goenka.  Watch the video here: Simple secrets to long life… pic.twitter.com/nuVzuGGR2C — Harsh Goenka (@hvgoenka) March 27, 2024 Several users thanked Mr Goenka for sharing the video and the doctor for his valuable tips. Reacting to the video, one user said, ''Mantra: Happiness, being content with what you have, and daily exercise are the secrets of a peaceful and long life.'' Another commented, ''The key to being happy is exercise, if you're in good health you are bound to be happy, health is wealth.'' A third added, ''A top-up! Keep your brain active by learning new skills/pursuing hobbies/engaging in activities that challenge your cognition, like puzzles or learning a new language. Cognitive engagement can help maintain memory, reasoning & critical thinking skills as you age.'' A fourth said, ''Do things for yourself, frequently walk(don't sit for long). exercise within limits, frequently exchange views with known old friends and relatives, eat whatever you like limited, be happy and thank God for givining all these to us.'' https://ift.tt/3A9wR02 March 28, 2024 at 07:49AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Why Gen Z Employees In China Are Wearing 'Gross' Pyjamas To Office https://ift.tt/cyQiEh3 Several Gen Z employees in China are ditching formal attires and showing up to the office wearing pyjamas, choosing comfort over traditional couture. According to the New York Post, more and more Gen Z employees are rocking the new lifestyle trend that has gained significant attention on social media. The trend has become so popular that there is a social media thread dedicated to showcasing the “gross outfits at work” worn by young Chinese workers.  These outfits include sweatpants, sleepwear, and other comfortable clothing that make them appear like they just rolled out of bed. Several employees have been posing pictures of them wearing pyjama pants, fur slippers, and sleeping socks, along with the explanation of the "work look." The trend started when an employee named Kendou S, posted a video of herself on Douyin, sporting a brown, burlap-like sweater over plaid pyjama pants with a quilted jacket, and fluffy slippers. She claimed on camera that her boss repeatedly labelled her getups ''gross'' and said that they needed to better reflect the ''image of the company.'' Luo, 30, who works as an interior designer in Wuhan, Hubei Province, told the New York Times, "I just wore what I wanted to wear," adding, "I just have to sit down, but I don't think it's worth spending money on clothes for work." The shift towards wearing pyjamas to work among Gen Z employees represents the nationwide ''lying flat'' movement. It simply means that younger professionals are now choosing a more easygoing, uncomplicated life. This countercultural trend is a response to the country's alleged slowing growth and dwindling employment opportunities, as per the NY Times. Despite their casual attire, these young workers want to prove that their choice of clothing doesn't reflect their abilities as workers. Not just the Chinese, American Gen Z employees have also been embracing this workplace trend. A recent report in the US also found that people are dressing more comfortably and more individually when at work. Wearing PJs also became increasingly popular worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic, when employees were relegated to working remotely. https://ift.tt/RZ7eQMi March 27, 2024 at 08:39AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

UP Doctor Says He Followed IIT-JEE Aspirant's Strict Schedule For 3 Years https://ift.tt/uBHObf8 The IIT JEE (Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Exam) is considered to be one of the toughest in the country which demands strategic planning, focused dedication, and a disciplined approach. Recently, a photo of a 17-year-old's demanding schedule for JEE preparation went viral, shedding light on the dedication and commitment required to succeed in such competitive exams. The viral photo sparked a heated debate on social media, with several other aspirants and IITians discussing the number of hours needed for preparation for such exams.  Reacting to the photo, a doctor said that he followed the same schedule during his preparation days and stated ''there is no shortcut to success''. Notably, the Noida-based doctor now specialises in internal medicine while his brother is an IIT-Delhi alumnus. The doctor said he and his brother followed the same kind of gruelling schedule for three years and got admission into one of the best government medical colleges. Meanwhile, his brother also got a good branch at IIT Delhi and is now settled in the US. ''Me and my brother almost followed the same routine for 3 years, I got one of the best govt medical colleges and he got a good branch @ IIT Delhi, now settled in the US. Telling you there is no shortcut,'' Dr Shraddhey Katiyar wrote on X. I have still kept my schedule of study for 6 months before my CA final. Pushing myself to 18 hours a day of study and finding variance in each hour of scheduled study.I cleared at the first attempt at 21 years of age.'' Another commented, ''Almost everything that you want to achieve requires grit of iron, sustained efforts. Might sound repetitive or boring but that makes you stand apart from the rest. That makes you one whom the rest will look up to in times to come.'' A third added, ''Indeed demonstrate discipline and commitment and were destined to succeed. Kudos.'' According to the schedule, the 17-year-old aspirant gets up at 4:30 am every day, after sleeping at midnight, getting just 4.5 hours of sleep. The rest of the day goes into revising old chapters, attending class, and completing class work with hardly any time for leisure or other activities. Meanwhile, Kalpit Veerwal, who scored full marks in the first part of the entrance test (JEE Main) in 2017, also reacted to the post and remarked that he didn't study as much as depicted in the viral schedule. https://ift.tt/W7Uk1Pq March 27, 2024 at 07:56AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com
