Woman Asks Internet To Help Find Her "Ghosting" Husband, Then This Happens https://ift.tt/mLS7bOc A woman from Massachusetts, United States, whose reality celebrity chef husband is said to have abandoned her and their two children was able to track him down by the "power of Facebook." The man, Charles Withers, had moved to Texas, where he had been using dating apps to connect with other women, while she stayed at home with the kids, as per a report in New York Post. The incident came to light after an internet user took to X to share Ashley McGuire's Facebook post where she asked people to locate her husband who had been missing for a year. She wrote in a popular Facebook group 'Are We Dating the Same Guy' and said, "This is my husband, Charles Withers. He loves to be the center of attention but I'm not sure how much he's going to like this. Last year, when I was pregnant with our youngest baby, he decided being a husband and a dad wasn't the lifestyle he wanted anymore and he ghosted, like gone without a trace." This is absolutely INSANE??????!!! pic.twitter.com/pQJXw6oxAd — kay? (@OKAYYYWOWWW) April 7, 2024 She added, "He has one baby he hasn't seen in over a year, and one he's never met. He's moved somewhere out of state and changed his phone number." She shared her intentions of divorcing him and said that she wanted to "close this chapter". The mother of two added, "Divorcing someone who's completely unreachable is really tough and drawn out, so I'm trying to track him down to get his signature on a few papers so I can finally close this chapter and move on with my life" Sharing further details, she said that her husband uses the name "Charlie" now. "He's British and charming AF. He's a chef and probably working in the hospitality industry somewhere. He's probably never mentioned having a wife or kids back in Massachusetts. If you know him, if you're working with him, if you're dating him or friends with him, can you please have him get in touch with me or let me know where I can find him," she continued. Within 24 hours of the post, many women claimed that they had matched with the man. Several others said that he had given out his Texas address to them so they could meet. Ms McGuire then took to the social media platform and posted an update. She said that she got "more than enough" information to locate her chef husband. "Single moms are a special breed, and I know a lot of you have gone through the same situation I have. Please know I truly do not wish him any type of ill will. I sincerely appreciate all of your support, but please do not make threats, spread hate, or try to go out and locate him," she said. The update we all wanted to see!!! The girls really did it!! I love to see it!! https://t.co/psjzw0RDZB pic.twitter.com/9hyANyupcl — kay? (@OKAYYYWOWWW) April 8, 2024 In conclusion, she wrote, "Truly I only want to see this situation resolved so me and my children can restart our lives and fix the damage done. At the end of the day I get to come home to my babies and be their mom, so I think I win regardless." Notably, as per a 2021 Boston Globe report, Mr Withers was supposedly a rising star in the Falmouth dining scene. There, he oversaw the Seafood Depot C Salt Wine Bar and Grille. The British celebrity even made an appearance in an episode of The Food Network's reality series "Chopped" in 2022. https://ift.tt/mbZrhci April 09, 2024 at 10:36PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Gudi Padwa 2024: Why Is The Festival Celebrated? Know History, Significance https://ift.tt/jYDdMZ9 Gudi Padwa is a springtime celebration marking the start of the new year for the Marathi and Konkani Hindus. According to the Hindu calendar, Gudi Padwa is observed on the first day of the Chaitra month, which indicates the arrival of the spring while, also, marking the start of a new year for Maharashtrians and Konkani Hindus. This year, the festival of Gudi Padwa is being celebrated on April 9, 2024. According to Drikpanchang, the Pratipada Tithi will begin at 11:50 pm on April 8 and conclude at 08:30 pm on April 9, 2024. The festival also coincides with the Ugadi celebration in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Ugadi, like Gudi Padwa, celebrates the beginning of spring and the reaping of rabi crops. Gudi Padwa: Significance and History The word Gudi Padwa is a combination of two words. Gudi indicates the flag while Padwa comes from the Sanskrit word pratipada, which refers to the first day of a lunar fortnight. According to belief, it's the day when Lord Brahma created the universe. However, there's another legend according to which this day is celebrated to commemorate the coronation of Lord Ram after he returned to Ayodhya along with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after 14 years of exile. This occasion signifies his victory against Ravana, the symbol of which is the traditional Gudi hoisted outside the house during the puja. Gudi Padwa Celebrations The day begins with a ritualistic bath, followed by prayers. People wake up early in the morning, clean and decorate their houses, wear new clothes and also put special gudi flags on their gates. It is believed that this flag signifies prosperity and victory of good over evil. People make Gudi flags using a colourful silk scarf that is tied to a bamboo stick with neem leaves and mango flowers on the top end, as well as Saakhar gaathi (sugar candy garland). Victory is symbolised by the Kalash on the bamboo stick in an inverted way. After the pooja, the Gudi is hoisted outside the house. Traditionally, people prepare various dishes using bitter neem leaves and sweet jaggery. https://ift.tt/FWLUqg4 April 09, 2024 at 09:30AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

"Beautiful Meal": Woman Mistakes Shower Gel For Olive Oil While Cooking https://ift.tt/MDfASP6 In a shocking instance, a woman was devastated after discovering that she had used shower gel to make dinner instead of "pure Greek olive" oil, as per a report in Newsweek. A video of the same is going viral on TikTok and has amassed over 5.7 million views. A message across the video reads, "You'll never actually believe what my mom actually did to dinner." The woman, Kameron Jane, said, "Look at what my poor mother did. She just cooked this beautiful meal... Tuscan chicken... in this amazing sauce" made with "this pure Greek olive oil that she had ordered online." The chicken meal is shown on camera, followed by a hand holding a bottle labelled "Pure Greek Olive." "This delicious meal that she spent forever on... only after she finished, did we discover that it's shower gel," the woman says as the camera pans back to the kitchen counter. The label on the bottle, which reads "shower gel olive blossom," is seen up close by the camera. According to the label, the shower gel is made by Korres, a Greek skincare and beauty company recognised for using natural components in its products, including olive oil. "She just had to leave the room because she's so angry," the woman added while controlling her laughter, as per the outlet. Ms Jane then instantly spat out her mother's "beautiful" meal after tasting. She said, "The chicken tastes like straight up soap." Later, the daughter asked the mother how she felt. She responded by saying that she "physically wants to hurt someone or hit something really hard." Many people on the video-sharing application were surprised to find about the same while others sympathised with the mother. The mother took to the comments section and wrote, "Mom here and I have so many explanations of how this happened but still a tad frustrated at the moment! Not gonna lie! That's what lack of sleep and too much multi-tasking can lead to!" "I would cry. I would literally cry. Poor mom," wrote another. "I'm Italian and I didn't even read what was on the bottle but when I saw it I screamed in disgust...the chicken looked good tho," added a person. "That does NOT look like olive oil have you people seen olive oil bottles," commented another. "The dish looked amazing. Sorry for ya loss. Mistakes happen," said a user. https://ift.tt/12dNbcR April 07, 2024 at 02:55PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Mr Verma shared his encounter with an Uber driver. He said that the driver was receiving calls from home, however, he was repeatedly ignoring them. "I booked an Uber cab today, the driver picked me and he started the ride. During the ride, he got calls and he disconnected 2-3 times. After that I insisted him to pick up the call. He did and the sound from the other side was quite audible to me. It was his daughter and she was asking for a school bag. The driver repeatedly tried to ignore first but later he asked his daughter to handover the phone to his wife. He said 'I am trying to save little money but can't afford to buy a new bag atleast in next 2-3 days as I recently bought books for our daughter and need to pay monthly bills'," Mr Verma wrote in the caption. Hearing this, Mr Verma understood the man's hardship as a father and decided to surprise him. He changed his drop location and upon reaching the destination, he asked the driver to come with him. He bought the driver a school bag for his daughter from a store and said that he made the payment through his wife's account. "I changed the drop location while he was on call with his wife and as soon as we arrived I asked the driver to come with me. The thing I was going to buy is quite heavy. The driver (a humble man) came with me without asking me anything. I took him to a bag store and bought one school bag. I made the payment from my wife's account as I didn't have enough in my account," he said on Facebook. Mr Verma said that the driver was "speechless" and thanked him. The driver asked for his number and later he sent him "a picture of his daughter smiling like an angel." The founder of Simply Blood added, "This one picture was more valuable than any money could buy." Concluding the post, he said, "We often come across bad drivers using services like #Ola or #Uber but sometimes we meet Superheroes also known as Fathers. I don't have words, how rich I feel after this. But gratitude to each and every father who never let their kids down. Even in the worst situation they are going through. I am sure my wife won't get angry on me for spending from her money. Just be kind and help anyone in need, the world would look beautiful." Since being shared, the post has amassed over two lakh reactions on Facebook. "They say money can't buy happiness But see you bought happiness for that little angel .. God bless," said a user. "Thanks for sharing this lovely incident. Few days back I also heard one of my society maids talking to my neighbour aunty that her daughter is demanding home made pizza in evening as it was her birthday but she couldn't get all ingredients as cheese is costly. I bought all items and called her an hour later to give her everything to make pizza for her little birthday girl that evening and she was happy more than anything. M glad that we could help such people and make others happy if we can. We should help like this more often," wrote a person. A person wrote, "Good on you Kiran. Not just for doing what you've done, but also posting about the same, so that the message reaches out to all, and hopefully even inspire some to emulate & do their bits too. Really made my day!"
