Watch: Australian Amazed As Uber Driver Navigates Through Mumbai Floods https://ift.tt/gRHYGa7 The city of Mumbai is famous for its rains, among other things. Beyond the Instagram stories that romanticise the weather, for many parts of the city, it adds to the chaos on the roads. Flooding and waterlogging become a common scene across Mumbai, especially in the subways. It disrupts life and sometimes even leads to death and destruction. Almost every year, one hears that the rains choke the city during the months of July to September. Amid this, an Australian woman recently took to Instagram to thank her Uber driver for navigating her through flooded streets to reach the airport on time.  Bree Steele, an Australian podcaster and content creator, found herself amused and awestruck as her Uber driver skillfully navigated her to the airport at 3 am, despite the flooded Mumbai roads. "Indian people are the toughest and chillest on the planet??!! We drove through flood waters like it was no big deal!!! It was scary!" she wrote while sharing the video.  Watch the video below:  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bree Steele (@breesteele.mp3) The video captured some glimpses of her journey to the airport. The whole way through the water was above the wheels and people were waiting at every major flooding point. It was 3 AM but there were people to guide the cars and the rich shores. When I got to the airport, I was soaked but everyone was just chill, no bother. And yeah, I have left Mumbai. UK Man's Electricity Theft Forces Neighbours' Young Daughter To Get A Job https://ift.tt/YUJnk6a India has a serious problem with electricity theft, but a shocking example from the UK has drawn attention from all over the world. A man stole so much electricity from his neighbours that his young daughter had to work to help sustain the family. This unprecedented incident has sparked outrage and highlighted the severe consequences of such crimes. According to the BBC, an electrician had been told to repay 4,000 pounds (Rs 433138) to his neighbours after stealing their power by diverting the supply to his own home. Leslie Pirie, from Tayport in Fife, set up the elaborate system using a device hidden behind a picture frame. Also Read | World's Largest Isolated Tribe Makes Rare Appearance In New Footage Dundee Sheriff Court heard that Hugh and Tracy Torrance's bills were so high they had to get their teenage daughter to work to help fund the payments. Pirie, 51, admitted stealing electricity between July 2017 and August 2020. He was given more than eight years to repay 40 pounds per month. Investigators discovered that a family was unknowingly funding both their neighbour's and their own electricity bills. Pirie punched a hole in the plasterboard and connected it to Mr. Torrance's metre before hiding a Henley block, which separated the supply, under a framed painting. Solicitor John Boyle stated the neighbours were out 4,000 pounds due to Pirie's electricity theft. Although they are still neighbours, their relationship is strained. Fife Council seeks to evict Pirie from the three-bedroom house he has lived in alone since his mother's death in 2010. Pirie, willing to repay in modest instalments due to unemployment, was admonished by Sheriff Morag Fraser and ordered to repay the couple. Mrs Torrance expressed disappointment, saying they thought he was a nice guy. https://ift.tt/M716Qbd July 19, 2024 at 08:11AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

Ganguly Recalls How He Learned Leadership Lesson From Sehwag's Defiance https://ift.tt/0Sr7tp3 Former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been a successful leader and a prominent figure in cricket, both in India and globally. His contributions to Indian cricket have always been acknowledged and respected. Recently, in an interview, he shared fascinating anecdote about the historic final match of the 2002 NatWest Series, which have now gone viral. In a video, he shared an important lesson in captaincy that he learned from his opening partner, Virender Sehwag, during the Natwest Trophy 2002 final. India started well, with Virender Sehwag scoring 45 and Sourav Ganguly scoring 60, together adding 106 runs for the first wicket while chasing a target of 326. However, India's chase faltered as they lost quick wickets, reducing them to 146/5 in 24 overs. They faced the challenging task of chasing England's total of 326 runs at Lord's cricket ground. Watch the video here:   Good example of leadership 1. How do you lead people who are different from you? 2. How do you nurture different approaches? Despite Ganguly's advice to play conservatively, Sehwag aggressively hit multiple boundaries in a single over, demonstrating a different approach. Ganguly initially felt frustrated but later acknowledged Sehwag's strategy was effective, leading to their victory. This experience taught Ganguly a valuable lesson in leadership: understanding and leveraging individual differences in a team. He realised that each player, like Sehwag, Dravid, and Harbhajan Singh, has unique strengths and should be allowed to play to their own style for the team's success. This adaptability is crucial to effective leadership. "I realised there was no point in stopping him." You cannot expect every individual to behave, react, work, and do things the same way. That is very important in leadership," he said. Later in the match India registered a historic win against England with heroic innings of Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif. https://ift.tt/bWpIO4i July 18, 2024 at 08:01AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

The advertisement, promoting the local restaurant chain Bengaluru Thindies, features a man pouring filter coffee, with an impressive three-dimensional effect making it seem as if the figure is reaching out of the billboard to offer a steaming cup to passersby. As cities reopened after lockdowns, traditional billboards struggled to engage audiences. This led to the rise of digital Out of Home (OOH) advertising, especially 3D billboards that use advanced LED technology to create eye-catching visuals.
