Techie Bagged Rs 7 Crore Promotion But Wife Asked For Divorce. See Post https://ift.tt/vTcM8XA A tech executive working 14 hours a day recently shared how his relentless pursuit of promotion cost him his marriage. In a post shared on the anonymous professional community Blind, the man revealed that for three years, he worked very hard, sometimes 14 hours a day, so he could get promoted. He recounted several important family moments he missed because he was busy with work. In the end, he said he did manage to achieve his career goals - being promoted to senior manager with an impressive salary of Rs 7.8 crore. However, he shared how the demands of his high-powered job strained his personal life to the breaking point, leaving him feeling empty and questioning his choices. "Joined 3 years ago as a stupid senior who keeps asking for a promotion. Since I asked, the amount of works keep piling and my scopes keep growing. It eventually reached the point that I coordinated EU + Asia team by default, so my meetings start at 7am and end at 9pm," the anonymous user wrote in his Blind post. After the birth, he could not support his wife who had postpartum depression because he did not have the time. "On the day my daughter was born, I was in meetings almost all days. When my wife has postpartum depression, I have a meeting conflict and did not go to the therapist with her. She asked for a divorce," he wrote.  The techie concluded his post saying, "I received a good news that my promotion was approved today. It does not feel happy as I hope, but I feel empty and indifferent."  "Can't stop asking myself on what am I doing with my life. But I guess in this layoff shitstorm era, I should be happy with what I have, right? This Startup Rewards 140 Employees With Rs 14.5 Crore Bonus For Loyalty https://ift.tt/AnhYDBq A Coimbatore-based startup has rewarded 140 employees with a bonus of Rs 14.5 crore for their loyalty to the company. Kovai.co, a SaaS startup, appreciates its employees who have stayed with the company for a long time, offering bonuses based on loyalty rather than performance metrics. The bonus was a part of their initiative "Together We Grow," aiming to stand out in the competitive startup landscape. Saravanakumar, the founder and CEO of the business-to-business software solutions company, explained that this initiative was designed for employees who joined before or during 2022 and stayed with the company for the next three years. The 48-year-old entrepreneur said that Kovai.co gave a hefty bonus and salaries to employees as a gesture of gratitude, pride, and achievement. This initiative, Saravanakumar added, has helped many employees make down payments on apartments, build long-term assets, invest in the stock market, or purchase cars. Saravana explained that he intentionally decided not to offer employee stock options (ESOPs) or link the incentive to performance. He mentioned that ESOPs are often seen as "paper money" until a company secures external funding or goes public, which is why he avoided them. Additionally, he opted not to tie the bonus to performance targets and instead focused on rewarding employees who had been with the company for three years. Saravanakumar, who hails from Coimbatore, relocated to London 25 years ago. After a decade in the IT industry, he saw a market gap and decided to launch Kovai.co in his hometown. Today, it serves a wide range of clients, including the oil company Shell, the aircraft giant Boeing, and the news corporation BBC. With an estimated total worth of $100 million, Kovai.co generates $15 million in sales annually. After keeping his promise to the employees, Saravanakumar now hopes to achieve his goal of turning the firm into a unicorn and making $100 million. Not long ago, a Chinese crane company reportedly offered its employees a whopping $11 million, approximately Rs 70 crore, in year-end bonuses. Henan Mining Crane Co. Ltd. put the cash on the table and gave employees 15 minutes to take home as much as they could count. https://ift.tt/Hc0ibJ5 February 14, 2025 at 07:40AM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

"Lost Lemons, Honey, Not Weight": Harsh Goenka's Take On Weight Loss Drink https://ift.tt/aEMPueY Billionaire Harsh Goenka tried a popular weight loss drink, and if his X post is anything to go by, it didn't yield the desired results. Drinking warm honey-lemon water on an empty stomach is often promoted as the best morning remedy to shed extra kilos and boost metabolism. But the RPG Group chairman poked fun at the trend, saying instead of losing weight, all he lost was the ingredients. "I was told that if you drink lemon juice with honey every morning for two months, you will lose 2 kg of weight. After two months, I had lost 2 kg of lemons and 3 kg of honey," Mr Goenka said. Same like Green Tea.. the only way to lose weight with green tea is to actually climb the mountain and bring back some tea leaves, boil and drink. — Tony Breganza (@Tonyzgr8) February 10, 2025 Madhuri Aggarwal, a Mumbai-based dermatologist, said that there was no scientific evidence to support the claim that drinking honey, lemon, and water promoted weight loss.  Dietician Anshul explained that while this drink may help soothe the bowels and aid in weight management, it does not directly lead to weight loss.
