"You Are Not Poonam Pandey": Users Link Delhi Police's Post To Viral Post https://ift.tt/tnuGFHk Delhi Police leverages model and reality TV star Poonam Pandey's fake death hoax for a road safety message. Their social media post subtly references the controversy, urging safe driving habits. While the original post sparked debate, the police hope it translates to real-life action: buckling up and wearing helmets. The post by Delhi Police is in Hindi, and when translated to English, it reads as "You are not an Undertaker, Mihir Virani, or a special case who will come alive again. Therefore, always wear a helmet and seat belt." हाँ हाँ, इधर-उधर मत देखो, तुम्हारी ही बात हो रही है@dtptraffic #RoadSafety pic.twitter.com/8OyLbrQ8j6 — Delhi Police (@DelhiPolice) February 3, 2024 The people who are mentioned in the post are the Undertaker, Mihir Virani and a special case. The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark William Calaway, is a professional wrestler who is famous for his dramatic entrances, signature moves, and especially his character's ability to "die" and return from the dead. He has used this gimmick throughout his long and successful career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Second is Mihir Virani, a character from the daily soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which gained fame for its recurring theme of experiencing death and subsequently returning to life. And third, the special case is Poonam Pandey, who has been trending for the last two days for faking her death to spread awareness about cervical cancer. The satirical post has rapidly spread among users, and many have quickly identified the individual the police are referring to. A majority of respondents pointed out that the subject of the special case is unmistakably Poonam Pandey. "And you are not Poonam Pandey," commented a user. "Special Case (Poonam Pandey)," wrote another user. "Delhi police rocks; Poonam Pandey shocks," commented a third user. https://ift.tt/6kPineo February 03, 2024 at 11:00PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com

This CBSE Class 9 Book Talks About Dating And Relationships, Tinder Reacts https://ift.tt/bnCpXvD Navigating love and relationships can be difficult at any age, but they are especially challenging in the teenage years. While crushes, first love, and budding romances can be exciting, they can also be complicated and confusing. In India, where children are not comfortable talking about such issues with their parents, often turn to the internet or their friends for advice which might not always be reliable. So, families and schools must step up and take the lead in teaching them what it means to be in healthy relationships and how to identify a bad one. One such progressive step has been taken by the CBSE, which has introduced Value Education books for class 9 students. These chapters are entirely dedicated to discussing the nuances of dating and relationships and also explain popular dating terms like 'ghosting', 'catfishing', and ‘cyberbullying' explained. Topics like crushes and ''special'' friendships are also explained through simple stories and examples.  Pictures from the book were shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @nashpatee. ''9th class textbooks nowadays,'' the tweet read. Teaching teens about "understanding" themselves and their partners will do them good in the long run. Maybe we will finally be able to come out from toxic cycles.'' A fourth said, ''This is honestly great. The real growth in the Indian Education System everyone wants to see.'' A fifth said, ''I think it's a good thing, I just hope the teachers are actually teaching these things and not brushing it off like the reproduction chaps.'' A sixth noted, ''Good. This is Required hai. Many teenage suicides, depression, and substance abuse are happening in India because of confused love emotions.'' Yet another added, ''Think its the most appropriate way to teach teens how to avoid, choose, and navigate relationships in their lives! Thai Woman Stranded On Wooden Bridge In Hilarious GPS Blunder https://ift.tt/l03XIUE In a scene straight out of a slapstick comedy, a driver in Thailand found herself stranded on a wooden suspension bridge, her car precariously balanced in the middle, according to the Pattaya News. The incident occurred around 5:40 pm on January 28th, when the woman, seemingly relying solely on her GPS for guidance, attempted to traverse the "Wiang Thong Bridge" with her white Honda Sedan. Unfortunately, the 120-meter-long bridge, intended for foot traffic only, proved ill-suited for the automobile. The Pattaya News reported that the car had managed to advance roughly 15 meters before disaster struck, with the front left wheel becoming lodged in a gap and bringing the vehicle to a grinding halt. Fortunately, the driver's predicament was witnessed by passerby Makun Inchan, who promptly alerted emergency responders. Recognizing the dire situation, rescue teams arrived swiftly to assess the scene and devise a plan for extricating the car without further damaging the bridge. In an interview with an unidentified Thai female driver, it was revealed that she hails from the Nong Muang Khai district and was on her way to visit a friend in Sung Men. Not familiar with the area, she heavily depended on a GPS system to navigate to the specific location her friend had sent her. The driver shared that she had never been to the area before and relied solely on the GPS instructions. However, she claimed that the GPS guided her to cross the Wiang Thong Bridge, unaware of any restrictions in place. "I was focusing on the GPS and did not look around. I thought the bridge was sturdy and likely used by others. When I became stuck, I was so scared because I was in the middle of the Yom River. I was afraid the car might fall into the river, so I got out of the car to seek help," the woman said. https://ift.tt/f9Yj7k6 January 31, 2024 at 11:11PM NDTV News-Offbeat https://www.ndtv.com
